This training is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to teach yoga to mums to be and new mothers recovering from birth safely and confidently. The course is recognised by The Yoga Alliance US and is open to yoga teachers with an existing 200-hour teaching certificate from any school.
The course will take place on a Friday & Saturday spread over 6 weeks from 12 pm to 6 pm. Covering 85 hours of which 72 contact hours and 13 hours case study and final assignment. To achieve your qualification you will need to attend all of the training days. For any missed training day you will need to rearrange another day which will be at a charge.
At the end of the training you will have the knowledge and skills to teach safe and well-structured Yoga for pregnant women & new mothers. You will have the understanding of the changes that occur in a woman’s body during pregnancy and how to adapt and modify yoga asanas to suit the needs in the different trimesters. You will have knowledge of different tools to help centre and focus the mind during labour and postpartum. Being aware of common post-natal ailments and knowing how to alleviate them, as well as learning the skills to teach a foundational class to mothers 6 weeks after birth.

100% attendance of the course is expected to become certified
We understand that emergencies and other life situations do arise. We recommend that you carefully review your schedule and upcoming obligations to ensure that you can commit fully to the teacher training. In some circumstances the following options may apply:
- Missed Lectures: Private lessons may be scheduled with the course leader to cover missed classes, subject to an additional cost
- Missed Weekend: If a student is absent from a full weekend (Fri & Sat) a future date to cover modules missed can be arranged, subject to teacher availability. Fees may apply.
- Making up hours missed is offered only in the face of extenuating events and will be extended by the lead teacher on a case-by-case basis. No teaching certification will be offered until all course hours have been completed.
What is Included in the Course Fee
Included in the fee is all tuition, Yoga Teacher Training Essex Pre & Post Natal Manual, Asana Book and teachers’ certificate.
Not included in the Course fee
If you wish to teach pregnancy yoga on completion of this course you will also need to upgrade your insurance cover (approximately an additional £20 per year) and update Yoga Alliance International Membership (one-time fee of approximately US$50).
